FAQ

Livestream

Why are there ads in my stream?
Because we don't want to pay extraordinary amounts of money to make the stream ad-free. It costs 350 spondulis a year to add more storage, increase the quality and remove the ads. For that price, Lex Luther may as well steal 40 cakes. And that's terrible.

Chat

How do I make an account?
If you are already using a temporary name just click on the button on the bottom right hand corner of the chat called "Set Your Name." Put in the account information you would like to have and click the "Sign Up" button. If not, when you type any text for the first time just fill out section 3 of the pop-up and click the "Sign Up" button.

How do I edit my text appearance?
Near the bottom right hand corner of chat are tools you can use to mess around with your settings. Try it out and experiment!

Streaming

What do you use to stream?
We use a program called Procaster which is the official streaming program of Livestream.

How do I become a streamer?
Currently, all streaming positions are full. There's an enormous backlog of regulars who've asked to be streamers, so we may not need additional streamers for a while. If you are in fact interested in streaming, hold tight; a position could open up and we may post an application. Always check the blog for info about possible streaming positions.

What games have been and are currently being streamed?

How do I disable that ticker forever on the bottom of my Vinesauce? It's slowing down my computer/is really annoying!
Head over to Vinesaucevidya.com, click once on the image background anywhere, then type cpujam without caps lock. It will give you a text popup if you did it right and the ticker will never load again. Type cpujam the same way again and it will be reenabled.

Vinesauce

What is "vinesauce"?
It all started in a basement a number of years ago. A group of friends were gathered around a television playing one of the Gamecube Mario Party games. The minigame in which vines grow out of the ground and into the sky appeared on screen. A random member of the bro committee was said to have uttered "Doesn't it look like those vines are growing out of an ass?" Many jokes and laughs later, Vinny became Vine. At least, that's how the rumor goes. Oh, and for the record, sauce is just a fun word.

Who is "vinesauce"?
Vinesauce is 26 years young, from New York, goes by the mortal name "Vinny" and works at a TV studio. He is your host of the Vinesauce Vidya. If one had to assign him an alignment, it'd be chaotic neutral.

What's different about this stream and why should I give a shit?
Many video game streams look alike, play similar games and have the same basic principles. The main difference with Vinesauce Vidya is maturity. Vine being 26 is a huge factor in why you won't get failfaggotry when viewing our stream. Speak softly and carry a big stick. Not my chair not my problem. Also, we treat people with respect, have contests where we give away games and do special events such as Around The Campfire with Uncle Vine, where we take calls from the viewers and tell ghost stories.

Rules

Are there any rules? If so, why?
Hold on a minute Bob Villa. We do have a rule or two that we expect people to follow. Obviously, spam is fuck-annoying, so is blatant disrespect for viewers and mods. We may make threads from time to time to promote the stream. While a bump is appreciated, image spamming with porn, gore, or a combination or the two is heavily frowned upon. We don't stream Pokemon here by the way, so don't expect it. On a side-note, while we all admire Japanese culture and even have a vocaloid video or two in the autopilot, we're lite on the weeaboo. If this sounds good to you, then welcome home.

Fuckin' magnets, how do they work?
Fuck you.

MISC

How does Vinesauce stream?
Vinesauce streamers use 2 tools to stream: Procaster and sometimes a capture card. When we play PC games, a capture card is not needed because you simply capture the stream and audio using the Procaster's screen video capture. To capture console games, we use a capture card; streamers use Easycap or Dazzle capture cards to connect consoles to the PC. With this connection, the display of the console is instead on the PC using software like Media Player Classic, which we capture the game footage with Procaster, delivering the Vinesauce Experience™. Hint: Google is your friend, use it for more info.

Donations

How can I donate to the stream?
We're not begging for money by any means. Vine has a full time job, so he can more than cover the costs of the site. If, however, you like what you see and feel compelled to donate, your name will get added to the donation page and Uncle Vine will be very happy.
